Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1, 1970) was born in Chennai. Lakshmi was just two years old at the time her parents separated. Her mother moved to America in order to avoid the guilt of divorce in India. Lakshmi was a resident for two years with her maternal grandparents in Chennai prior to her move to the United States. Her parents divorced and Lakshmi has two younger siblings. Lakshmi, whose last name is the Hindu goddess of prosperity, wealth and success was born in New York. She then grew up with her mother and stepfather in Los Angeles. She would visit India for a few months every year to visit her relatives. Padma Lakshmi began to be interested in acting in 1999. She was in "Figlio di Sandokan" which was an Italian Pirate movie. Next, she starred in 'Caraibi' (Pirates Blood Brothers), an episode about 17th-century pirates. In 2001, she played in a comedy role supporting a singer in discos in 'Glitter.' Padma is the mother of a daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, who is married to Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was conceived on February 20, 2010. Teddy Forstmann was her ex-chairman. He is currently the CEO of IMG. Lakshmi is currently in a relationship with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. They share a daughter called Krishna. Lakshmi disclosed that her daughter's father is Dell. She said that everything is better when she's around her daughter. "Anything from morning till the night. I have no interest in any other than her.

Her most well-known roles include her roles as Andy Jensen on the ABC Family series Kyle XY, as Lacy Rand in the short-lived Syfy science fiction drama series Caprica and as Emily (born Maya Hartwell) in the science-fiction series Continuum.
