Dawson also voice-overs for Warner Bros./DC Comics as well as ViacomCBS Nickelodeon's Nickelodeon unit. For her role as Rent, Dawson was awarded the Satellite Award in Best Supporting Actress Motion Picture. And for Top Five, Dawson was nominated to the Critics Choice Movie Award for Best actress in Comedy. Dawson was born on the 9th of May, 1979 in New York City. Isabel Celeste is her mother and is of Afro-Cuban heritage. Rosario was 16 at the time Isabel was born. Her mother, Isabel Celeste, never got married to Patrick C. Harris. When Rosario was one year old, her mother got married to Greg Dawson, a construction worker. Through this marriage, Dawson has a half-brother, Clay, who is 4 years younger than her. Dawson is also known for her various roles in comic-book adaptations.These include Gail in Sin City (2005) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), Claire Temple in five of the series by Marvel/Netflix (2015-2018), and singing the character of Wonder Woman/Diana Prince in the DC Animated Movie Universe and Space Jam: A New Legacy and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl on The Lego Batman Movie. The actress played Ahsoka Tano on the show's second season beginning in 2020. In the coming year, she will be starring in the Disney+ original series Ahsoka. Also, she'll be appearing in Young Rock, an autobiographical comedy produced written by Dwayne John that will air in 2021.

Her most well-known roles include her roles as Andy Jensen on the ABC Family series Kyle XY, as Lacy Rand in the short-lived Syfy science fiction drama series Caprica and as Emily (born Maya Hartwell) in the science-fiction series Continuum.
