Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli American actor and singer was born on 20th October 1983 in Herzliya. Following her service in the Israeli Defense Forces, she started her career. In 2003 she starred in an Israeli film. This was her big breakthrough. At the time , she was a part of two TV shows in Israel. She was also a musician, recording several songs with the Israeli rapper Subliminal. Tal was able to move in with her sister in New York in order to get a break from her career. Then, she teamed up with Haitian artist Wyclefjean in the hit song "Party to Damascus". American television also saw her establish herself with a regular role on the television show Veronica Mars. She initially was a candidate for the role lead however creator Rob Thomas created a new character for her. Tal was later offered a regular role in the short-lived CBS series. Starred in two television series in Israel before moving to New York. Recorded a song with singer Wyclef Jean. Her first language is Hebrew. She was second in the character of Veronica in Veronica Mars (2004).Originally she auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice for the title role. Thomas loved her so much that he conceived the recurring character of Meg Manning just for her. She served in the Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish Her father is a Turkish/Jewish man, and her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays Adrian Monk's wife, who was murdered in the finale episode of Monk (2002).
