Rosamund Pike

Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the only child of a classical violinist mom, Caroline (Friend), and a opera singer father, Julian Pike. Due to her parents' jobs, she spent her childhood travelling around Europe. Pike attended Badminton School in Bristol, England and then began her acting career at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then spotted by an agent and signed. Although it was a large-budget action film, the film subsequent work was mostly in smaller independent films such as Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards) as well as Pride & Prejudice (2005) in the role of one of the Bennet daughters. Following the action film Doom (2006) as well as the action thriller Fracture (2007), Pike had a brief appearance in Hollywood film. But, she returned to smaller film with extraordinary performances in three films: An Education (2008) as well as Made in Dagenham (2010) and the lead role opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010). In 2012, Pike portrayed the role of Andromeda in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike returned to action films as the lead actress alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
