Pollyanna McIntosh
Pollyanna McIntosh is from Scotland. She
was raised in Portugal, Colombia and then returned to Scotland. This is when
she began performing on stage in The Edinburgh Festival. She moved to London at
16 and quickly became involved with indie filmmaking. Her first pay-per-view
was as a stoner on Irvine Welsh's The Acid House (1998). She also worked as an
actress and director in the theatre. The move to Los Angeles in 2004 brought on
more theatre and productions, including "The Woolgatherer" that she
was director Anne Dudek (a regular on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) and David
Dayan Fisher (a regular on 24 (2001)/NCIS (2003)) to great reviews. In
Headspace (2005) the actress landed her first US movie part as
"Stacy", a manipulative, born-again Christian. Her first film
appearance was in the film Headspace (2005) as the manipulative born-again
Christian "Thumper Wint". This comedy was written by Heathers (1988).
In both LA as well as London, Exam (2009) was her next project, nominated by
BAFTA for Outstanding British Debut and winner of Best Independent at the Santa
Barbara Film Fest, the film's critics said that Pollyanna's character was
"smart, sassy and sexy in equal measure ....the emotional core of the
film" praised her capacity to identify the "emotional vulnerability"
of her supposedly strong and confident character. GQ has stated that
"stunning Pollyanna McIntosh is an exceptionally talented actress".
Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ), is a South
American comedy in which she is the unhappy wife of Trevor Lock, a Brit
comedian. Shot in Peru and she is Spanish throughout. John Landis directs Burke
and Hare (2010). She portrays Isla Fisher's friend, as well as Andy Serkis and
Jessica Hynes and Tom Wilkinson. Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) was a huge
success. It was praised by critics and also topped the New York Times readers'
top films poll. For her performance, she won three Best Actress awards,
including Total Film's Frightfest Award and Fright Meter's.
