Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts (born 28 September 1968) is a British actress from Britain. She made her debut in film in Australia in For Love Alone (1986), followed by three television series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts relocated to America in 2000. Her first experience was a struggle as an actress. In reality, she was only able to get minor roles in films prior to becoming an actor in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller. Her fame grew internationally for this character. Watts was the journalist who is depressed in The Ring, a horror film remake. Her performance as an emotional mother in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated for an Academy Award. She continued to rise to the spotlight with her roles in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as also Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the decade of 2010 she appeared in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While We're Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts also continued to appear in blockbusters, with appearances in the Divergent franchise (2015-2016).
